Style Classic Revisited -- Capris

Audrey Hepburn Capris Pants

Browsing on Highsnobette, I noticed a runway trend of capri pants.  Capris typically remind me of high school (worn by every self-proclaimed 'preppy' girl with Jack Purcell sneakers), but done right, they are a timeless clothing staple that can carry you through all seasons.  The earliest versions of these short pants were worn by Audrey Hepburn, Ava Gardner, Liz Taylor, and Mary Tyler Moore.  Wear yours form-fitting with a heeled shoe for the best look.

Rag Bone Capris

Rag&Bone's Spring '09 has these rad capris (above) which will be great for spring, but which I would totally rock for fall.  I definitely intend on thrifting a pair of zany printed capris or pants to alter into capris.  Wear with anything but sneakers or flip-flops for some cooler-weather steez.  I love an edgy shoe as shown.

If you go with a print, aim for a large pattern for warmer weather and a tighter, smaller print for fall & winter (small prints are also a lot more slimming than large designs on your body).

Yigal Azrouel Capris

Yigal Azrouel has some long capri pants and some baggier cuffed pants showing up on the runway as well.  To stay chic, keep capris sleek and mid-calf, suggests Glamour mag on The State.com.  Capris are an easy way to change up the skinny jeans look, especially if you aren't completely comfortable in skinnies yet.  While they won't do anything for your height, short girls can still rock capris.  I recommend a heel - something strappy for warm weather, or basic black pumps or ankle boots when the leaves are falling.
